The Prophetic Sciences (al-ʿUlūm al-Nabawiyyah): Understanding the Muhammadan Inheritance

This course, taught by Shaykh Yāsīn al-Kurdī, takes students on a profound journey through al-ʿUlūm al-Nabawiyyah – The Prophetic Sciences, based on the celebrated work of Shaykh ʿAwn Muʿīn al-Quddūmī
The text serves as a structured gateway into the comprehensive Prophetic disciplines, offering a renewed framework for understanding the Muhammadan Inheritance — how knowledge (maʿrifah), love (maḥabbah), and following (ittibāʿ) of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ form the living continuation of Prophethood in this Ummah.
Students will explore the five foundational sciences that encompass the Prophetic reality:

  Sīrah – the life, days, and journey of the Prophet ﷺ
  Shamā’il – his noble characteristics and attributes
  Dalā’il– his miracles, signs, and proofs
  Faḍā’il – his virtues compared with those of other Prophets
  Khaṣā’iṣ – his unique distinctions and divine privileges

Through these interconnected disciplines, students will see how knowing the Prophet ﷺ leads to loving him, and love leads to following him — the essence of the Muhammadan inheritance (al-wirāthah al-Muḥammadiyyah).
The aim of this course is not merely academic; it is transformative — cultivating hearts illuminated by the Prophet’s example and lives that mirror his light.

Level: Foundational–Intermediate
This course is delivered entirely in the Arabic language, where the original text al-ʿUlūm al-Nabawiyyah is read, explained, and discussed in Arabic by Shaykh Yāsīn al-Kurdī. It serves as a bridge between introductory Islamic studies and deeper Prophetic scholarship.
By the end of the course, students will grasp the relationship between maʿrifah (knowledge), maḥabbah (love), and ittibāʿ (following) — as the path to renewing the Ummah’s connection with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in our time.
